Edinburgh Castle
The Edinburgh Castle on the corner of Henry Street and Blossom Street in Ancoats can be traced back to at least 1811. In the 1970s it was a Whitbreads house. It closedheritage in the early 2000s. At one stage Heritage Inns had planning permission to refurbish it but nothing came of that. http://pubs-of-manchester.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Edinburgh%20Castle%20-%20Blossom%20Street According to Manchester Evening News in 2016 http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/edinburgh-castle-ancoats-real-ale-11259784 it will be " transformed into a new drinking hole under plans by developers First Step - while 21 new apartments will be built next to it. ... Developers say they plan to turn it into a real ale pub, while the next door Woodies backpackers hostel would be demolished and replaced with a restaurant and apartments. ... Ten new 'townhouses' would include 21 new flats accessed from Blossom Street, with a new eaterie underneath."

Generation House
The former sub-station on the corner of Jersey Street and Henry Street together with a pair of two storey cottages were in a state of disrepair in 2014. They have since been acquired and renovated by Armitage Construction who now use it as their offices. http://www.armitage-construction.com/sectors/residential-commercial/generation-house-15-jersey-street-ancoats

Edinburgh Castle under wraps
The Edinburgh Castle is a former Whitbread pub on the corner of Blossom Street and Henry Street. It dates back to 1811. Currently it is submerged under scaffolding. I understand that the pub is to preserved and will open again once all the building work is completed. Update: The pub re-opened in November 2019.

"Hall? St Bee-ter?s a Chorus of Industry"
Part of the Bee in the City project, sponsored by The Hallé supported by Siemens plc, designed and decorated by Daniel Gubba and sited in Cutting Room Square, Ancoats. The name is another instance of an excruciating pun typical of the project. The design reflects the Hallé’s relationship with Manchester’s industrial heritage, and its base in Ancoats at Hallé St Peter’s. It celebrates the wonderful partnership between the Hallé and its principal sponsor Siemens – a perfect blend of music and industry. The artist’s family history in Ancoats, the street names, music shops of old and the brass of the instruments have all influenced this design.
