Mcr - Football is Our Game
The latest piece of street art to appear in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, this 10-metre high mural was unveiled on 5th April 2019 on the side of the Hare and Hounds pub in Shudehill. The mural was created by Manchester-based sportswear manufacturer Umbro which is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year with a brief to “celebrate the passion of a city and its shared love of the beautiful game”. It is made up of tweets from both United and City fans and it expresses what football means to them. Proudly made in Stockport
A new advertising mural on the gable end of the Hare & Hounds on Shudehill. The murals on this wall tend to only last only a few weeks. This one depicts the McVitie's factory where Jaffa Cakes are made. The mural was created by Aske-P19. The new Glassworks Tower (a.k.a Shudehll Shard) rises above in the background. Shortly after completing the mural it was apparently defaced https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/jaffa-cakes-artwork-northern-quarter-29528732 but it was obviously repaired before I took this photograph.
