This Hospital was formerly called Park Hospital and on the 5th July 1948 when all hospitals were nationalised the minister of Health, Aneurin Bevan came to Park Hospital to receive the keys to symbolise the birth of the NHS.

Metal plate attached to concrete post by the B5158, in parish of URMSTON (TRAFFORD District), Bowfell Road; opposite Leisure Centre, next to junction with Jackson Court, on the verge, on North side of road. Erected by the County Council in the 20th century.
