Opened in 1873 by the Cheshire Lines Committee on the line from Manchester Central to Liverpool Central via Warrington.

Urmston Millennium Clock
The clock had stood on Flixton Road from 2000 but was removed in 2007 during work on the Eden Square development. In 2013 it was re-erected on the other side of the road.

Urmston Station from the old stairs
Considerable effort was expended to clear the old Manchester-side stairs in late 2010. It's not known whether this will lead to their reinstatement. The current access is adjacent to the booking office visible top right.

The original station building on the left has been replaced by a modern waiting room and a street level ticket office. The station building on the right has been renovated and converted into "The Steamhouse" public house.

Urmston Station
The station was opened in 1873 by the Cheshire Lines Committee. It lies on the line from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Oxford Road via Warrington Central.
The main station building on the Liverpool-bound platform was disused for many years in the 1990s, but was re-opened as a pub/restaurant called the Steam House in June 2008.
