Cook Street Brewery
A noble landmark on the Salford skyline, the former Cook Street Brewery, grade II listed buildings survive as a residential conversion. Dated 1896, designed by WA Deighton for Threlfall's Brewery Company Ltd. Built of red brick with Welsh slate roofs and including a fine brick tower with lettering at high level 'THRELFALL'S BREWERY COMPY LD COOK ST. BREWERY'. Acquired by Whitbread in 1967, brewing ceased 1988.

Former Model Lodging House
In its transformation into a modern apartment building a glass atrium was added to bridge the space between the two bays of the building. The original beams have been exposed in the upstairs' rooms creating a striking contrast between the contemporary fittings and the Victorian architecture of the building. This photo also the large raised gable and parapet with moulded copings and moulded terracotta heraldic panel inscribed 'Salford Corporation Model Lodging House' which is above the doorway.

The Kings Arms
The pub was built in the 1870s to replace an older Kings Arms which stood on the other side of the street and which was pulled down to make way for the building of Salford Corporation’s gas offices.
