In its transformation into a modern apartment building a glass atrium was added to bridge the space between the two bays of the building. The original beams have been exposed in the upstairs' rooms creating a striking contrast between the contemporary fittings and the Victorian architecture of the building. This photo also the large raised gable and parapet with moulded copings and moulded terracotta heraldic panel inscribed 'Salford Corporation Model Lodging House' which is above the doorway.
