The Bowling Green
Pub on Manchester Road. In 1874 George Kirkpatrick, then landlord of the King's Head from where he operated the Denton Omnibus Company bought the Bowling Green Hotel on Manchester Road and moved there, taking his omnibus business with him, leaving his son, Robert, as the landlord of the King's Head. In 1983 the name of the Bowling Green Inn was changed to Denton Tramway in acknowledgement of George Kirkpatrick’s Denton Omnibus Company. An omnibus left the Bowling Green Inn for Manchester at 8:00am, 10:00am, 1:10pm, 3:10pm, 4:45pm and 6:40pm. http://www.pittdixon.go-plus.net/denton/kings-head.htm Later it reverted to the name "Bowling Green" but now it is known as "Hughes's Bar" Image

The Bowling Green
In 1874 George Kirkpatrick, then landlord of the King's Head from where he operated the Denton Omnibus Company, bought the Bowling Green Hotel on Manchester Road and moved there, taking his omnibus business with him, leaving his son, Robert, as the landlord of the King's Head.
