Agecroft Cemetery, Former Mortuary Chapel
Built in 1903 by Sharpe & Foster, in Perpendicular Gothic style with a distinctive clock tower, the large, disused mortuary chapel lies near the main entrance to Agecroft Cemetery. Closed and effectively abandoned in the 1980s, the chapel is listed as a heritage building at risk by the Victorian Society http://www.victoriansociety.org.uk/news/agecroft-cemetery-chapel-salford/ . For most of the year, the now derelict chapel is hidden by the trees when they are in leaf.
