Pall Mall Court, King Street, Manchester
A post-war office block which is not at all run of the mill. "Strongly modelled and striking with tall angled service towers ... with ranks of boxed-out windows. Cladding throughout is bronze patinated aluminium and blue-bronze Staffordshire brick or mosaic." (Pevsner). By Brett & Pollen, 1969, for London Assurance Ltd. Grade II listed.

King Street Victorian Architecture
King Street has been the banking centre of Manchester for almost two hundred years and some of its finest Victorian buildings are situated here. Designed by Edward Salomans and dated 1870, the former Reform Club stands on the corner of King Street and Spring Gardens. The Lancashire and Yorkshire Bank is the building to the right and is dated 1890.

73-79 King Street, Manchester
Built as Norwich Union House. According to Manchester Metropolitan University's Visual Resources it was designed by T.P. Bennett & Son, 1959-60. In 2004-05, its clean lines were swept away in a much feted remodelling which also added two floors. As is de rigueur these days, it has also been given a pompous new name: the Pinnacle.
The ground floor is occupied by a branch of soulless pub chain, All Bar One.

The tower of Pall Mall Court
Pall Mall Court is a complex development from 1969 of offices and shops, including this twelve-story tower in brown glass with brown metal framing. It was designed by Brett & Pollen. I found this interesting account on the web: https://manchesterhistory.net/architecture/1960/pallmallcourt.html
There is more detail in the Historic England listing "Commercial office building, 1966-8 by Harry Teggin of Brett, Pollen & Teggin in association with A H Brotherton and Partners, and the engineers, Cyril Blumfield and Partners. Reinforced concrete frame with grey-bronze ceramic-mosaic cladding to the service towers, and Staffordshire blue-brickwork and bronze painted-aluminium cladding to the rest of the building with bronze glass. Flat roofs with parapets. 6-storeys and 12-storeys." It is listed grade II. See https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246934
The building entrance is currently behind site boards. The whole site was sold to a company called Bruntwood Group, who are remodelling the building and that includes changing the ground floor into a hospitality area with space for a food and beverage vendor and outside seating on the piazza outside. We shall see. The site has, in the past, attracted vandalism and some undesirable people.
