Looking south-east. Bottom left is the old BBC building on Oxford Road (Image]). Further away along Oxford Road is the cluster of university buildings. On the skyline must be the hills of the Peak District.

Former BBC, Oxford Road, Manchester
Pevsner is dismissive: "dull". By the BBC's chief architect, R.A. Sparks, c1975.I doubt that post still exists. It looks like long bands of ribbed white concrete and strip windows. It closed in 2011 when the BBC relocated to Salford Quays.

Current broadcasting office of BBC Manchester. Soon to be relocated when their new building is completed. The new complex will be a 'media city' and based at Salford Quays near the Lowry. The BBC say they will move several major departments - Children's, Sport, New Media, Five Live and Research and Development - out of London to Salford by 2011. http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/buildings/new_dev/move_north.shtml
