Cormorant, Manchester Ship Canal
Behaving more like a diving duck, this bird spent most of its time diving under the water before emerging a few metres away making it difficult to predict where and when it would next appear. Cormorants are found around the UK coastline on rocky shores, coastal lagoons and estuaries; they are increasingly being seen inland at reservoirs, lakes and gravel pits. This one is on the Manchester Ship Canal at Trafford Wharf/Salford Quays.
