Righton Building
The Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1197781 glazed brick and terracotta building was built in 1905 as a draper's shop. Pevsner remarked that it has "probably the best-preserved Edwardian shop interior in the city".
Occupied by Manchester Metropolitan University's Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design it is currently undergoing restoration and is covered in scaffolding.

Righton Building

Originally a draper's shop and showrooms, dating from 1905, it became an annex to the School of Art. It now belongs to the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Manchester School of Art Grosvenor Building
This building was designed by GT Redmayne and built for the Manchester School of Art in 1880. LS Lowry was one of the school’s students and his teacher was Adolphe Valette who is commemorated by a blue plaque on the outside wall.
The School of Art became part of Manchester Polytechnic in 1978 and is now part of the Faculty of Art and Design at the Manchester Metropolitan University. The building is Grade II-listed by English Heritage (English Heritage ID:387973 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-387973-manchester-polytechnic-school-of-art- British Listed Buildings)

Grosvenor West Building under wraps
The Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1293192?section=official-list-entry Grosvenor Building dates from 1880 and was then the Manchester Municipal School of Art. It became first part off Manchester Polytechnic and subsequently the Faculty of Art and Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. It is currently undergoing a £10million refurbishment. According to Place North West https://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/mmu-starts-8m-grosvenor-west-refurb/ "the project comprises fabric repairs to the 141-year-old property's exterior brick and stonework, roof, and roof lights, and the addition of secondary glazing to improve insulation. The work also includes upgrading and replacing internal heating and lighting systems, maintaining, enhancing, and reintroducing original heritage assets, and enhancing accessibility."
