Shops on Wilmslow Road
The first row of shops on the A6010 through Fallowfield occupy the ground floors of the Mabfield Buildings, built 1898. Business there currently include Papa Johns (pizzeria), Cookie 'n' Dough, nino milano (hairdressing since 1969), Kosmos (Greek restaurant), Jupiter Properties, Turkiss (takeaway with minicab office above) and Fallowfield Convenience Store. Ten years earlier Cookie 'n' Dough was the "award-winning" Raj Halal takeaway, Jupiter Properties was the Mr Bubbles launderette and dry cleaners and Turkiss was "mega chicken",

256 Wilmslow Road
This Grade II listed building https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254889 was originally the school attached to the Church of the Holy Innocents. It was converted into a public house called the Queen of Hearts. Nicknamed "The Tarts" it had a matching reputation. It closed in 2010 and acquired by Hydes Brewery in 2011 who reopened it as simply "256 Wilmslow Road" http://www.256fallowfield.co.uk/ Attached is the former Cheshire Cat also acquired in April 2011 by Hydes, modernised and re-named the Joseph Whitworth, then a further re-branding took place in early 2015 to give Beer Studio.
