This is a Grade II listed building completed in 1913. The South Manchester Synagogue has relocated to Bowdon, but plans are in hand to develop this as an educational centre.

Former South Manchester Synagogue, Fallowfield
The Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254890 synagogue by Joseph Sunlight opened in 1913. In 2003 the congregation moved to a new building in Bowden. The building has been converted into a residential Jewish student centre.

Best Western Willow Bank
An Edwardian house with a 1960s extension to turn it into a hotel. The car is emerging from the secure car park under the 1960s building, through a gateway under the bridge between the two buildings, that the barman referred to as the 'sky lounge'

Bar and Restaurant
The old building at the Best Western Hotel houses the bar, restaurant, and a handful of rooms. A stone over the main door carries the date 2010 in roman numerals, and the logo of the Feathers Hotel Company, who own eight Best Western hotels in the North West of England.

A service to the customer
Notice on the gate of the Fallowfield hotel, warning departing drivers not to abuse the bus lane. The bus in the photograph is one of the low-cost "Magic Bus" fleet. The gates and gate post come from a nobler age.
