59-61 Piccadilly, Manchester
By W. & G. Higginbottom, 1907, and clearly built as Clayton House. Clad in Portland stone, with a canted oriel bay in the centre and extravagant chimneys and central gable. Grade II listed. Its neighbour also has an extravagant gable.

Clayton House
59 & 61 Piccadilly is a Grade II listed building https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246671 It was built by W & G Higginbottom in 1907. At ground level it is occupied by Subway. The five upper levels containing offices are presently to let.

The main front, punctuated by four big gables, extends along Newton Street, but the single-bay facade to Piccadilly packs quite a punch (Image] and Image]). By Heathcote & Rawle, 1889. Grade II listed.

##51-67 Piccadilly
On the left is the Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246920 Gardens Hotel comprising a textile shipping warehouse of mid-to-late C19 date, and another of 1904 by W & G Higginbottom, both with ground floor shops and upper floor offices. For a time part of the building was the general offices of Manchester Corporation Tramways. 59 - 61 Piccadilly is the Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246671 Clayton House by W & G Higginbottom built in 1907. It is home to, among others, the Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society. The ground floor tenant is Subway. 63 - 65 Piccadilly is the Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246671 St Margaret's Chambers which sits on the corner of Newton Street and was built in the 1890s. The corner retail shop is Max Speilman.
