Murals behind the building work
This building site on Oldham Street was originally home to the Dobbins fancy drapery shop. http://manchesterhistory.net/architecture/1930/dobbies.html The art-deco United Building Image in its latter years was home to "Mr Ryan's World Famous 2nd Hand Shop". It was demolished after a fire in 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-22121085 Despite a local campaign to turn the site into a pocket park http://parkstarter.com/ it was allowed to become a temporary car park Image Now Kempton Homes are constructing two mixed used buildings providing 100 apartments with basement parking for 100 cycles and ground floor commercial units. https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/76-82-oldham-street-northern-quarter-8-5-fl-u-c.1947139/ On the left is 22 Bees for Manchester Image Completed in June 2017 on the side of the Koffee Pot cafe it is a memorial to those who died in the Arena bombing. On the right is a mural by Dale Grimshaw http://www.dalegrimshaw.com/ Dale took part in the Cities of Hope event as a special guest. Here he realised one of his iconic, tribal portraits, which is dedicated to those fighting for independence in West Papua Image Once the building work is completed no doubt the murals will no longer be visible. This photograph was only possible by peering through a gap in the fencing/scaffolding surrounding the site.

Bradley Street, Manchester
Bradley Street is in the Northern Quarter. The black plaque on these buildings says: "4, 6 and 8 Bradley Street: Two "one-up one-down" houses in each of these three outriggers to the rear of the grander properties on Lever Street were built in 1787. Although rebuilt and altered in 1996, they represent the last surviving examples of this type of accommodation in the City. Records indicate as many as 12 people living in one property."
