Training Academy Site, Openshaw West
The site of the new Manchester City Training Academy being built on land opposite the existing City of Manchester Stadium.
The site was formerly the Clayton Aniline factory site and was historically home to a gasometer, an alkali works, a forge, a refuse heap, railway sidings and other industrial works.

Wasteland off Clayton Lane
The engineering works is long gone. In the distance are the modern additions of Eastlands Stadium and the "artwork" called "B of the Bang", which is falling apart. Possibly an apt metaphor, albeit an expensive one, for the City of Manchester's taxpayers.

G H Sheldon make oven-bottom muffins which are readily available in supermarkets locally. The smell of them pervades the locality pleasantly.
