Half of the double track bridge over the Grand Union Canal, the other half is now used by a footpath. Beyond there is an elegant cable stayed pipe span over the canal.

Grand Union Canal: Bridge Number 115A
Bridge Number 115A originally carried the trackbed of the former London & North Western Railway's Leighton Buzzard & Dunstable Branch over both the canal here and the adjacent River Ouzel out of sight to the right. The line was opened in 1848 but was a victim of Dr Beeching's cuts, closing in 1965. Today it carries a footpath and a "traffic-free cycle route" over the canal and river.

Old railway bridge across the canal
This old railway bridge, No.115A crosses the Grand Union Canal and the River Ouzel in Linslade. It carried the L&NWR Dunstable branch until closure in the 1960's. The far span now carries a path from Grovebury Road to Mentmore Road. Note the friendly cat who accompanied me along the footpath.
