Linslade: The Railway Hotel
An icon of a long since departed way of life, that of the commercial traveller who used the railways to get around, Linslade's version of The Railway Hotel, with its balustraded balcony over the front door, stands derelict and boarded up. Station Road, inevitably, is to the right, New Road to the left.

Dash Direct
An Arriva bus waits at the Leighton Buzzard terminus of its D1 route from the Sandhills development. The new route was a result of 6 years of protracted negotiations between the developers, local councils, Friends of the Earth and Arriva The Shires and started services on 26th April 2010 (information from the Leighton Buzzard Observer). The vehicle is an Optare Solo and is also brand new.

Originally called The Swan, it is believed to have been built around 1838 when the London and North Western Railway line was constructed. It changed its name when the original Railway Hotel changed its name to the Hunt Hotel - see Image The hotel was rebuilt around 1900 and was gutted by fire in the 1990's.
