Luton: Wigmore Hall
No, not the famous Image] in London, but this is nonetheless important as one of the few old buildings to have survived the urban spread of Luton. It is Grade II Listed and the English Heritage website describes it thus:- "Early C19. Stucco, hipped Welsh slate roof. Square double pile plan. Three first floor sash windows with glazing bars. Two ground floor canted bays flanking doorway. Four fielded panel door, rectangular fanlight; surround of pilasters, entablature, dentil frieze and cornice." The building is on Eaton Green Road and is currently in use as part of a Conference Centre. Old Ordnance Survey maps show it in glorious rural isolation surrounded by farmland...

Luton: Wigmore Place
Wigmore Place is a large office block development built close to Luton Airport. Looking at satellite imagery there are 16 of these "pods" split into separate units with the names Marlborough House, Eaton House and a third that the photographer has forgotten! Reviewing currently available old Ordnance Survey mapping the office block does not appear on the 1986 Edition but does appear on the 1992 version which gives some clue as to when it was built. The road in front is Wigmore Lane.
