Back to the City
Accelerating on the Princes Avenue reservation is 'Showboat' car 212, on its way to Briggate in the city centre. These 1931-built cars lasted until the final tramway abandonment in November 1959.

Showboat to Roundhay
By 1957, only three large English cities retained trams: Liverpool, (where the last two routes would close that year), Leeds and Sheffield. Here in Leeds, 'Showboat' car 161 prepares to leave the Princes Avenue reserved track near Roundhay. The car is showing 9 on its blind, because it will return to the city via Moortown and then run on to Dewsbury Road on the south side.
