The Cottage Road Cinema, Leeds
A remarkable survival. Opened in 1912 in a converted motor garage, it is the oldest continuously operating cinema in Leeds, and certainly one of the oldest in the UK. Until 1937 it was known as the Headingley Picture House, and it was on the brink of closure in 2005 when rescued by the current (2018) owners, Northern Morris Group.
