Hyde Park Picture House
An early cinema, dating from around 1914, possibly based on an earlier building. Terracotta entrance portico and dressings (now overpainted) in the gable. It has operated continuously as a cinema, the key event in its history being the intervention by Leeds City Council in 1989 to prevent its closure. It is now run as part of the group which includes Leeds Grand Theatre and the famous City Varieties. Listed Grade II.
