Amorous duck on the canal at Kirkstall
I presume it was the male who was showing off his flying and fast swimming skills to a not very interested female. Then he took to chasing her in a curious water-skimming way. I think the species is goldeneye or possibly goosander.

Kirkstall Brewery Residences, Leeds
The former Kirkstall Brewery has been turned into a student hall of residence (Leeds Metropolian University). There are buildings on both sides of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, this is the building on the west side.
A feature that is not clear on the photo - the students seem to have an improvised network of ethernet cables looping between some of the windows.
