The left hand spire in this view is not, as I first thought, St Matthias Burley, but the former Wesleyan Methodist church Image The grid reference given is for this one. The right hand spire, further away, is that of St Augustine of Hippo, Wrangthorn Image

The entrance from Cardigan Lane. The overall arrangements of carved square stone posts to the vehicle and pedestrian entrances is similar to that of other Leeds parks such as Gotts Park Image but the detailed pattern of carving differs.
