The Malt Shovel, Main Street, Burley in Wharfedale
The old Malt Shovel was completely rebuilt in 1880, in “Jacobethan” revival style. The owners hoped to attract the tourists who were coming to Wharfedale on the railway, which opened in 1865. The road was widened at this corner c. 1902.
