Forty years on.
Entrance to the Boars Head. The last time I walked through these doors I was with my wife and grandfather. That was forty years ago. The entrance wasn't like this then. The pub is now closed.

Roker self-service store, Roker Lane
Since a similar photo in 2019 Image the building beyond, the former Boar's Head pub, has been converted to housing - the small window on the near side shows that this is a conversion, not a new build.
