The Gaping Goose, Selby Road, West Garforth
The oddly named pub stands on the old alignment of the A63, looking down on the present main road. According to one local website, it is the oldest pub in the town, but not listed by Historic England. It is however on CAMRA's list of heritage pubs, mainly for its interior fittings of 1935 by the Melbourne brewery, and later Tudor style bar of the 1950s. The Leodis photographic archive has an image of the pub with a flock of geese outside https://www.leodis.net/viewimage/116658

The oddly named pub is on CAMRA's list of heritage pubs, mainly for its interior fittings of 1935 by the Melbourne brewery (the mosaic on the floor seen here probably dates from that time) and later Tudor style bar of the 1950s. See Image for context.
