Barker's Tannery, Otley
Amazing time capsule that used a single cylinder steam engine to drive the works until closure in 1988. Sadly missed. The engine was removed for private preservation and the works has now gone.

Wm Barker, Tannery, Cross Green, Otley
A sad day indeed. The day Barker's closed and their steam engine ran for the very last time. Because of the tortuous and expensive train journey from Scarborough I missed the last shut down and the BBC film crew but I was allowed to mooch around morosely for an hour or so and get some last shots.

Barker's Tannery, Otley
Vats rotated by a stationary steam engine. Visited minutes after the site had run for the last time. Now a fond memory.
