Victory Gardens - plaque
The text on the plaque on this pillar reads "To the Glory of God, and the Valour of Great Britain in the Sacred Cause of Peace and Freedom, these Victory Garden Allotments were presented to the Rawdon Urban District Council on the twentieth day of September 1919, for the benefit of the residents of Rawdon, by Sir John Arthur Godwin, Kt, JP, whose family made their home at Rawdon for four succeeding generations. Eli Winn JP, Chairman of the Council. Edmund Wade, Chairman, Agricultural Committee."
