Girls' Entrance, St. Margaret's School, Horsforth
This school is a C of E Voluntary Aided school, properly known at St. Margaret's, but certainly in my time, everyone referred to it as the 'National' school. I was a pupil at this school during the war years, and received there an excellent education. The teachers, coping with classes up to 50, wrought miracles. We never had anything but devotion and kindness from them, even though some of the children were from very poor homes.
This was the Girls' entrance on Town Street: Boys had to use the entrance on Church Road.
