Tanhouse Hill, Horsforth
Named after the tannery which stood here and operated from 1816 to 1968. The tannery was founded by the Watson family, one of whom ,Joseph Watson, later became known as "Soapy Joe", after opening a soap factory on Whitehall Road in the centre of Leeds. (That business continues, but now under the name of Lever Faberge, making toiletries at a factory in Seacroft)

Christmas Day, Woodside Methodist Church, Horsforth
Snow is a rare occurrence in Leeds at Christmas, but in 2009 it snowed on Christmas Eve, and a few days earlier. Christmas Day was bright and sunny.

Woodside Methodist Church hall, Outwood Lane
The hall was the original Wesleyan chapel of 1840, with a Sunday school attached behind it. The chapel was replaced by the present church Image in 1895 and is now the church hall. It is listed grade II (list entry 1240015).
