Broadway Hall, Horsforth
According to the Leodis website, this property was built in 1805 for Jonathan Staples, a local surgeon and known as Lower Bank House. It was renamed Broadway Hall in the 1930s when it became a ballroom and function suite. In 1966 the building was bought by Bartlett insurance brokers who are still based here. I am surprised it is not listed.

Broadway Hall, Horsforth, Yorkshire
Although now used as offices, (and greatly extended since this photograph), during WWII this building was used as a dance hall, which managed to keep going with Saturday night dances in spite of the blackout restrictions. The dances scandalised the neighbourhood, but they were extremely popular, and local bus operator Samuel Ledgard, never averse to turning an honest penny, usually managed to find enough petrol and an old 'chara' or two to get folks home to Rawdon, Yeadon and Guiseley afterwards. Those from Hawksworth Estate had to walk.
