Entrance to St Paul's church and hall
The hall to the left, the church (worship space) to the right. It was built with this distinctive octagonal design in 1965. The architect was Geoffrey Davy (1912-1988) of Kitson, Parish, Ledgard and Pyman. He also designed the Anglican churches of Waincliffe St David (Beeston parish) and Harehills St Cyprian around the same time. The design of all three was influenced by Le Corbusier and is discussed in detail in the English Heritage report "Three post-war churches in Leeds" by John Minnis, 2005 (available from the EH website).
