One of the many interesting 19th century office buildings in Leeds city centre. This one, originally called Abtech House but now bearing a different name over the door, is grade 2 listed (list entry 1375414).

18 Park Row, Leeds
"A small visual treat ... in Free Baroque style", wrote Pevsner. Built for the West Riding Union Bank in 1900 to the designs of Oliver & Dodgshun. The ground floor is faced in Swedish granite carved with strapwork, above which is a relief carved by Joseph Thewlis depicting the bank's activities. Above are fluted Corinthian pilasters and smaller relief panels. Grade II listed. The stripy building on the left is this one: Image

As part of amendments to the road layout in central Leeds in 2021/21 this upper section of Park Row is southbound only for motor traffic, with a contraflow cycle lane.

Kenneth Hodgson House, Park Row
The building with the elaborately moulded facade appears to be a coffee lounge, at least on the ground floor. The former bank building to the left is by Alfred Waterhouse, 1891, and is grade II listed.
