Disused entrance to armaments works
This is an entrance to the former Barnbow Royal Ordnance factory, now Vickers Defence Systems. The gunslits in the wall on the right show that security was once high.
The site is still in use, with smart modern buildings, so it's a shame that Vickers don't keep their back gate tidy.

Railway west of Austhorpe Lane
Two tracks heading towards Leeds. Where the line curves to the left was Cross Gates East Junction where the line from Wetherby came in from the right. That line closed in 1964.

On the Site of the Old Barnbow Royal Ordnance Factory
The old Vickers Tank Factory has now disappeared to be replaced by new housing. This used to be an entrance to the huge complex.
All that remains at this location in a blue placque. Although further east more demolition work is continuing, with the "Vickers" sign still standing defiant.
