Until quite recently the property would have enjoyed an uninterrupted rural vista, but now the buildings of the expanding Thorpe Park retain and business park by the M1 are visible about a mile away.

Austhorpe Lane
At present this is the eastern edge of the continuous urban area of Leeds, though with Thorpe Park being developed a short way to the east and the East Leeds Orbital Route about to be built, expect more infill development.

Austhorpe Hall
Grade II listed building built in 1694 for John More. It underwent alterations in the 19th century. Built at a time when Leeds was developing as a main cloth producing centre, it is unusual in that it only has two storeys, rather than three.
