Notice on Leeds Country Way
How this landowner must really hate having the Leeds Country Way across his land. Unsurprising that his astonishingly wordy notice has been subject to a certain amount of aggressive attention. For most landowners who can be bothered, something along the lines of "please keep to the footpath" is usually sufficient. "Private farmland" is what the majority of English footpaths cross. I wonder what "eviction" entails? Perhaps to the nearest alternative public right of way, which is probably the lane to Barwick-in-Elmet, but a lift there might be handy for any walker getting weary. Prosecution for trespass is, of course, nonsense. Prosecution for being more than four feet wide is, I suppose, a possibility. See also Image for more context.
