Church of the Ascension, Seacroft: north side
The church opened in 1961, originally (and still officially) an Anglican one, but as of 2015 it was being used by the Forward in Faith denomination. There are proposals for it to be sold to them. The building is actually aligned NW-SE; this is the liturgical north side.

Firemans Switch
The unusual feature is on the south side of the church of the Ascension Image It presumably dates from the time the church was built (1961). Other contributors have suggested it may have been an isolator switch for a high voltage supply to a neon cross such as that seen on Image or similar feature.
