It is many years since I last went in this pub, probably in the 1990's when I worked nearby. It has been closed for a couple of years I believe, maybe more.

Old milestone
Milestones Tadcaster 7 and 8 from the former Tadcaster to Halton Dial (Leeds) turnpike road of 1751 to the 1870s are now lost. Tadcaster 9/Leeds 5 is in a sorry state. It is on York Road in Whinmoor near Baildon Drive and a pedestrian crossing.

Old milestone
Looking towards the roundabout junction of the A64 with the A6120 Seacroft Ring Road, the poor state of this milestone is seen. It is not attached to its stone through the hole in the top, is at a different level and very sunken. The metal attachments on these turnpike stones are 110cm high. This one is now about 70cm.
