The ground floor of nos. 5 and 6 are occupied by businesses (a recruitment firm and a printers). Both these buildings have 'to let' signs but they refer to the offices on upper floors, there being little market for city centre office space now that most workers have got used to home working. They form part of a row of what were town houses dating from 1777 and grade II listed (list entry 1375385); see Image for a wider context.

Fine Georgian house with a Tuscan doorcase and platband. Dated 1785-94, by William Hargrave who built most of the street (Image]). Grade II listed.

Originally the road was where the gardens to the houses on the right were laid out, and in fact there was a clear view down to the River Aire from here, the Park Estate was developed in the 1770's, then when the railways came and the merchants had large warehouses built the residents moved out to the clean air of Headingley.

This is the north east side of Park Place and separated from the west side by Central Street forming what would have been two symmetrical blocks of houses of which building began in 1777 up to 1800 the occupiers would have had a clear view across the Aire Valley as only the north side was being developed,Thomas Ambler had his offices at No9

One of few Georgian streets in central Leeds, composed of different sized blocks rather than uniform terraces. Late C18th, mostly by William Hargrave in 1788-94. The large pedimented block, numbers 5-7, was designed by William Lindley, 1777, for banker John Arthington (but has been mauled a bit since then). All Grade II listed. Individual houses here: Image] and Image A Leeds Civic Trust plaque notes that "merchants and gentlemen were attracted here by the then beautiful view of the river [Aire] and neighbouring hills". Nowadays the only view from the north side of the street is the south side of the street, built up from the mid C19th. Most, if not all, of the houses are now offices.

On the south side of the street which would have been the gardens to the houses on the north side when they were first built but by the mid 19th cent commercial premises were being erected this one in particular by George Corson in 1870 for offices and warehousing,
