Former asbestos works, Canal Road, Armley - offices
Mark Anderson identifies this as "Midland Works" Image (maybe named after the local railway company) but from 1906-1959 this was the notorious Roberts asbestos works, and there may still be people in Leeds living with (or dying from) the effects of having worked here or lived in the surrounding streets. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armley_asbestos_disaster for the full story. The former office buildings (and maybe part or all of the main building?) are now occupied by a plumbers merchant.
