The Beech, Wortley - real fire
It is the internal fittings of this building that earn it a place in CAMRA's list of heritage pubs, such as this tiled fireplace in the front lounge bar. Internal photos taken with the landlady's permission.

The Beech, Wortley - rear door
It is the internal fittings of this building that earn it a place in CAMRA's list of heritage pubs, such as the terazzo flooring seen here inside the side door to Copley Yard. The 'exit only' sign is a Covid-19 precaution.

The Beech, Wortley - beer garden
Not very appealing, especially in winter, but another customer told me the new landlord has plans to improve the area.

The Beech Hotel, New Wortley
Like the nearby Crown,
Image, this "hotel" (in reality a pub) was closed in 2011
Image but unlike its neighbour has since re-opened. Like the Crown it originally advertised Melbourne Ales, but later seems to have become a Tetley house (both breweries now defunct).

The Beech, Wortley - front bar
It is the internal fittings of this building that earn it a place in CAMRA's list of heritage pubs, such as this traditional bar with wood panelling and brass fittings. I presume the Perspex screen is a recent addition during the Covid-19 pandemic. Internal photos taken with the landlady's permission.
