Open space between Dewsbury Road and Cardinal Road
When the Cardinal estate was developed (Circa 1930s) this was left as open space, running all the way between the main road and Cardinal Road, although a later small development called Waincliffe Terrace has taken over the north end of it.

Former church of St David, Waincliffe
A daughter church of Beeston parish, dedicated on 2 December 1961, to replace a temporary structure of 1943 on the site of the present church hall. The architect was Geoffrey Davy. According to Historic England, "The three churches, St Cyprian and St James, St David and St Paul, designed by Geoffrey Davy and built between 1959 and 1965, are the most striking of their period in Leeds. They display an awareness of advances in liturgical thinking through the architect's membership of the New Churches Research Group, demonstrate the care that went into their design and detailing and show how the example of Le Corbusier's chapel at Ronchamp influenced the work of a provincial British practice." It closed as a place of worship on 21 September 2015 and was sold to a developer.
