Building site, Blacksmith's Corner, Tattershall
This was an industrial site back in 1972, with a vehicle body works and an engineering works. It is perhaps surprising that it has not been redeveloped sooner.

Trees in Tattershall
Looking none the worse for the dry summer, these trees decorate the centre of the village.
There is a grade I listed Market Cross (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1287778 ), a grade II listed K6 telephone box (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1288166 ) and the entire island is a scheduled ancient monument because of the archaeological significance of the site with the cross (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1009227 )

Fortescue Arms, Tattershall
The Fortescue Arms overlooks the Market Place in Tattershall, the sign over the door displaying the coat of arms of Earl Fortescue. The Fortescue family acquired Tattershall Castle in 1693 but never lived here - in fact they presided over a long period of decline and abandonment. In the end the Hon Hugh Fortescue sold the castle in 1910 which led to its purchase by Lord Curzon the following year and its eventual restoration.

Lodge House, 13 Market Place, Tattershall
Grade II Listed early 18th century house altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. On the roof ridge is a ceramic 14th century louvre in the form of a gabled house, known as "Tom Thumb's House". The village website informed us 'The tiny house was thought to keep evil spirits out of the main building. Tom Thumbs house changed from one side of the Market Place when Mr Wright sold his shop.'
