Motherby Hill (Lower Section), Lincoln
This is the section that runs from level with Victoria Terrace to its bottom end off West Parade. This pathway formed of stone setts follows the line of the former western boundary wall during the time that the Romans occupied Lincoln. The lower gate (the West Gate) is said to be buried under tarmac where this path joins West Parade ahead. On the other side of the pier-supported brick wall in this picture is a parking area belonging to the city's main Police Station.
