Grainthorpe windmill
Former Grainthorpe Tower Mill Probably dating from the early 19th century, this tower mill originally had roller reefing sails and was hand winded. In 1895 it lost its cap and sails in a tailwind. It was rebuilt, gaining another storey in the process, together with a fantail and four patent sails, the work being done by Saunderson of Louth. It ceased work c.1930 and lost its sails c.1934. There were three pairs of stones. The tower has lost its added top storey and most of the machinery microsites.lincolnshire.gov.uk/Windmills/section.asp?ca...

Give a Hoot
A sign at the start of the public footpath at Poor's End reads "Wildlife conservation Area - Keep Out". The only sign of wildlife is the ever-watchful owl perched on top of the post.
