The Old Station Yard at Llangefni
Llangefni was an important station on the Gaerwen to Amlwch Anglesey Central Railway line. Passenger service was withdrawn in 1964, but freight, mainly to the Octel plant at Amlwch, continued until 1993. The yard has been converted into a car park and some of the station buildings into shops.

Goods train at Llangefni Station
BR Std 2MT 2-6-0 78003 (built 12/52 at Darlington, withdrawn 12/66) heads a short train of ballast hopper wagons towards Amlwch, the terminus of the branch from Gaerwen. In the siding on the right are bromine tank wagons - evidence of the existence of the Associated Octel Company's bromine plant at Amlwch. Passenger trains still used the branch, but not for much longer - the service was withdrawn in December 1964. Goods trains continued to use the line until 1993.
