Entrance on to the footbridge on the north side of the A55
The sign advising cyclists to dismount brings a smile. Welsh has no single word for "dismounting". "Dod oddi ar y beic" (come off the bike) would be the colloquial way of expressing it. However, the pedants insist on using "disgyn". Unfortunately, in every day usage, "disgyn" means "to fall off" - so that the sign advises the cyclist that this is "the spot to fall off the bicycle". However, there have been even worse attempts at conveying the order as the following link shows:

Back into the 21st century
After a 7 kilometre stroll along country lanes, encountering only one car and one tractor on the way, descending down to the A55 corridor is a cultural shock.
