Llanfaes Estate - demolition of the prefabricated residences
These small, pre-fabricated cottages were built in about 1947, immediately next to the Saunders-Roe facility. My Great-grandparents, Victor Percival Mills (1921-1974) and Annie Smith (1921-) lived at number 3, until around 1964 when the houses were demolished and replaced with more substantial housing-estate-style houses. That process can be seen here. Date, photographer location and view direction are approximate.

(Motor Torpedo Boats). Time was when photographing this factory would have led to a term in one of HM's Prisons. http://www.bmpt.org.uk/boat%20histories/Dark%20Class/index.htm

The former Saunders Roe site at Beaumaris (7)
The B1 hangar was built in November 1943, and has three extensions to the right. Known as the 'West' hangar, it was used as a central store for the whole site. A number of ventilated spray booths for bus bodywork were built along the left side in the early 1950s, just one of which can be seen in the photo on the end. In the distance can be seen a part of the VR2 hangar which housed by the mid-1950s, the General Stores and Main Detail Shop. Image
